A Little Bit About Michael Mota



Michael Mota brings to his roles of founder and CEO of Atom Media a diverse and storied resume.  

An educator, videographer, and author of a published children’s book, Michael began his advertising career as the Vice President of Sales at Mediapeel, a mid-sized agency, where he worked from 2010 through 2011.  He secured Alex and Ani as a cornerstone account, and as he anticipated its swift and unprecedented growth, he saw great potential in an acquisition that would make Mediapeel a wholly owned division of its former client.  

Under the guidance of his mentor, then-Alex and Ani CEO Giovanni Feroce, Michael proved essential in developing and closing that deal – the first of many such acquisitions.  

Mediapeel was re-imagined and transformed into Seven Swords Media.  Michael helped lead the company onto Inc. magazine’s “5000 Fastest Growing Companies” and “Fastest Growing Companies in Rhode Island” lists.  In two years, Seven Swords’ annual sales rose from $500 thousand to over $22 million.  During that period – and in no small part due to its game-changing marketing – Alex and Ani grew from a small, regional company with $2 million in sales into a global lifestyle brand with annual revenues in excess of $250 million.  

In 2014, Michael founded ATOM Media.  When it was time for Giovanni Feroce to take on his own new challenge and reimagine the venerable BENRUS brand into a lifestyle brand with global reach, he called Michael and entrusted him with the creation of critical multi-media BENRUS marketing components.

Today ATOM boasts an international clientele (BENRUS, Benjamin Moore, FAMARS, BMAX, Sasha Liv, the Jeffrey Osborne Classic, The Preserve, Imperial Pearl, etc.) drawn to ATOM’s combination of out-of-the-box creativity and mastery of traditional forms that is forcing a recalibration of its industry’s standards. As a result and in its second year of operation, Atom Media is experiencing exponential growth.
